PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file management device capable of executing proper access control. SOLUTION: When a file in an MFP, to which a user of an MFP body accesses, is competed with a file in the MFP which is accessed via a network (YES at S302), copy files of the competed files are prepared for the editing by a network user (S303). The network user can edit the copy file even while the user of the MFP body accesses to the same file.
