PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user is suffered from troublesomeness because the information of all areas are outputted when the user passes through a communication available range in a conventional information distribution system. SOLUTION: In an information processing system, an information distribution apparatus transmits area information by a short-range radio communication means; the short-range radio communication apparatus stores condition information as a condition for determining whether or not the information is outputted in advance, receives the area information from the information distribution apparatus via a short-range radio communication means, determines or not the area information and/or information indicating that the area information is received should be outputted on the basis of the condition information, and delivers the area information and/or the information indicating that the area information is received to the portable terminal if it is judged that the information should be outputted; and the portable terminal outputs information having accepted information from the short-range radio communication apparatus.
