PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an power steering device capable of preventing overheat burnout of a motor when a CPU is rest by the voltage drop of a power supply during the cranking frequently occurring after the engine stall, the estimated temperature of the motor of the electric power steering device is lost, and a steering wheel operation is started in a short time. SOLUTION: When the engine speed is detected, and an engine is stopped due to the engine stall, the estimated temperature is recorded in an EEPROM. When the steering wheel operation is restarted, the temperature estimation is continued by reading the ambient temperature detected by a temperature sensor or the temperature recorded in the EEPROM, whichever is the higher, as an initial value.
