PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a destination searching method such that when a user merely inputs keywords regarding a destination at random, whereby the destination is searched, and that the search result is displayed, and a moving object navigation device based on this searching method. SOLUTION: A moving object navigation device 1 is provided with a local area limiting word storing part 9 which stores therein local area limiting words having meanings of limiting a local area, and is configured to extract the local area limiting words from keywords by referring to the local area limiting word storing part 9, and to generate conditions for narrowing a target local area to be searched based on the local area limiting words. The device is further provided with a similar word storing part 7 which stores therein similar words, and is configured to extract similar words to the keywords by referring to the similar word storing part 7, and to generate searching conditions for expanding a search range of the keywords. The device regards these searching conditions, in combination, as searching conditions for searching the destination, and searches a destination information storing part 12.
