摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master carrier for magnetic transfer constituted in such a manner that adhesion alignment can be well carried out without the occurrence of displacement, scratch, peeling defect, etc., by obtaining a good adhesion state to a slave medium at the time of magnetic transfer. SOLUTION: The master carrier 1 for magnetic transfer of a disk shape having concentric transfer patterns corresponding to transfer information is formed to have such a surface characteristic that the friction characteristic value V/(P A) obtained by measuring the maximum static friction force F when the master carrier 1 and the slave medium 3 are brought into uniform close contact with each other at a contact area A and are firmly stuck by exerting a vertical load P thereto and are pulled in a surface direction, ranges from 173 to 24/cm<SP>2</SP>, more preferably ranges from 112 to 45/cm<SP>2</SP>. Preferably, a hard protective film 13 by a DLC film 13 is formed on the surface of the master carrier 1 or a lubricant is applied to the surface of the hard protective film if required.
