PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having high reliability as a device by dropping the temperature of only a pipe heater termination part to an admissible safety temperature without dropping the pipe heater surface temperature at the time of defrosting. SOLUTION: The refrigerator includes a defrosting means which is for an evaporator 129 constituting a refrigerating cycle and which is equipped with a pipe heater 133 where a heater wire is covered with a metal pipe, wherein the end of the heater wire of the pipe heater is connected with a lead 155, and the heater termination part 157 structured so that the connection part is covered with rubber material 163 water-tightly is contacted with a refrigerant pipe 153 as the low temperature part of the evaporator, whereby the temperature of the pipe heater termination part is solely sunk to the safe temperature level without dropping the pipe heater surface temperature at the time of defrosting.
