PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit which saves on labor in manufacturing and is easily made thin and lightweight. SOLUTION: A programmable logic IC 31 which is formed separately from a display 13, programs its own logic circuit according to a program read from a ROM 20 which is provided in the display 13. Furthermore, the programmable logic IC 31 is connected to a data line driving circuit 22 and a scan signal line driving circuit 23 of the display 13, and controls operation timings of both the driving circuits 22, 23.
