PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further shorten stowed length in a lens barrel in which a plurality of optical elements are positioned on one photographic optical axis at a photographing state, a part of the plurality of optical elements is saved at a position different from the optical axis of the remaining elements and the saved optical element and at least a part of the optical elements remaining on the photographic optical axis are retreated, respectively. SOLUTION: This collapsible lens barrel is characterized that a part transferred to the optical axis direction without changing an interval with the saved optical element in the optical axis direction at the photographing state is considered as a straight moving element among at least a part of the optical elements remaining on the photographic optical axis and at least a part of the saved optical element and the straight moving element is positioned in one plane to perpendicularly cross the photographic optical axis when it becomes a collapsed state from the photographing state.
