PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the elongation of an aluminum composite material obtained by compounding hard grains into an Al-Si-Mg based aluminum alloy while securing its wear resistance. SOLUTION: At the time when an aluminum composite material in which hard SiC grains are compounded into an Al-Si-Mg based aluminum alloy is heat-treated, the holding temperature in artificial aging treatment after solution treatment is made higher than that on an ordinary level, further, as a cooling method after the aging treatment, furnace cooling is adopted, and also, the upper limit values of the holding temperature and holding time in the aging treatment are suitably set, thus the crystal grains of the part (base metal) in the aluminum alloy are made suitably large. Thus, its elongation is remarkably improved while securing its sufficient wear resistance (base metal hardness:≥30 HRB). COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
