MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING APPARATUS AND IMAGE GENERATING METHOD THEREIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high-quality and wide spread imaging using a local radio frequency coil without attaching a probe to an object. SOLUTION: A static magnetic field magnet 1 which generates a static magnetic field in a gantry, a gradient magnetic field coil 2 which applies a gradient magnetic field to an object P placed in the static magnetic field, and a radio frequency coil 4 which receives a magnetic resonance signal from the object P to which the gradient magnetic field is applied, are mounted. A control portion 10g detects a contour of the object P. The control portion 10g drives a position controlling mechanism 7 on the basis of the detected contour so that the radio frequency coil 4 is placed near and far relative to the object P. Consequently, a magnetic resonance image is generated on the basis of the magnetic resonance signal received by the radio frequency coil 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
