PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing a mushroom, in which labor is reduced and production efficiency is high, and suitable for industrial production. SOLUTION: A seed fungus is inoculated and cultured in a culture medium and the culture medium in a mass state in which mycelia are spread is dividedly formed as a plurality of fine piece-like mushroom beds and the fungus is cultured in a state in which formation of a fruit body in each mushroom bed is limited to substantially one. When surface area of the upper surface is 30-70 cm<SP>2</SP>and the thickness is 1.5-3.5 cm and the mass is≤100 g in the size of the formed culture medium, the culturing method exhibits favorable effect.
