The roller (4) to transport and cut a material web, during winding into a roll, has a moving interior cutter within a slit in the roller mantle. The cutter has two blades (5,5') in two slits (7,7') in the roller mantle surface (8). The slits are at an angle (11) to an axially parallel mantle line (12). The slits move out from a common contact point (9) on the mantle line to the same side of the mantle line as far as the roller edge (10), and the blades move in opposite directions and at different speeds.
