METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PREPARING A POSTMAN'S ROUTE WITH BOTH LETTERS AND LARGE FORMAT OBJECTS

The aim of the invention is to prepare a postman's route using a plurality of processes for sorting mail including both letters (1) and so-called flat large format objects (4). To this end, a first sort is carried out in a sorting machine (2) for sorting letters and another first sort is carried out in a sorting machine (5) for sorting large format objects, with corresponding sorting outlets "letter" (3) and "large format" (6); the mail from the corresponding sorting outlets is collected; and a second sort is manually carried out using a set (21) of cases (8), by allocating different distribution points of the postman's route to each case.
