<p>A communication device and method, a recording medium, and a program capable of rapidly and surely selecting a device as a communication partner. A search device (21) performs search to detect one device. When a response message is acquired from a searched device (32), on the display section of the search device (21), a screen appears for selecting whether to make the searched device (32) a communication partner. When the searched device (32) is not selected as the communication partner, the search device (21) performs search again to detect two devices. When this search detects a searched device (31) and the searched device (32), the searched device (32) which has not been selected as a communication partner is excluded from the device to be presented to the user and a selection screen is displayed for selecting whether to make the searched device (31) a communication partner. The present invention can be applied to a personal computer, a PDA, a mobile telephone, and other communication devices performing radio communication.</p> |
