<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device that can be constituted to be small, light and inexpensive without impairing a looseness removing function of a seat belt. <P>SOLUTION: This device has a seat 2 provided with the seat belt 4 for restraining a sitting occupant 3 and supported on a vehicle body to be movable along the direction of force acting on the vehicle body at the time of a collision, a first acceleration means (actuator 9) for imparting acceleration of the same direction as an input direction of collision load to the vehicle body to the seat 2, and a second acceleration means (braking member 18) for imparting acceleration of the opposite direction of the direction to the seat 2. One end of a cable 24 having the other end connected to a buckle 23 for connecting the seat belt 4 from the above is extended forward via a guide sheave 25 provided on a side part of the seat 2, and the front end is fixed to a portion (elbow part 13) substantially integrated to a cabin when operating the first acceleration means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
