<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device for a vehicle capable of setting an operation sensitivity of an airbag and a pretensioner or the like by the occupant's own intention. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant protection device for the vehicle has detection means 11, 21 detecting the impact applied to the vehicle, the occupant protection means 12, 22 protecting the occupant at the time of impact, and operation control means 13, 23 operating the occupant protection means 12, 22 according to the detection result of the detection means 11, 21. The occupant protection device also has an operation sensitivity setting means 30 with which the operation control means 13, 23 sets the sensitivity operating the occupant protection means 12, 22 by the occupant's input.
