<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display medium and an image display apparatus, capable of performing space saving of a power source, miniaturization of the apparatus and turning into cable-less wiring. <P>SOLUTION: The image display medium 1A is provided with a front surface substrate 2A having transparency, a rear surface substrate 3A disposed opposite to the front surface substrate 2A, partitioning members 5 partitioning the space between the front surface substrate 2A and the rear surface substrate 3A into a plurality of cells 4A to 4D, positively or negatively charged particle groups 6A and 6B encapsulated in the plurality of cells and moved in the cells according to an applied electric field and a solar battery 23 provided in a position receiving external light.
