PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device storing an ink discharge quantity and the number of of times of cleaning. SOLUTION: The recording device performs recording on a recorded object by discharging ink in an ink cartridge from a recording head by being equipped with the ink cartridge. The device is equipped with a discharge quantity measuring section to measure the discharge quantity of the ink discharged by the recording head by using the ink cartridge mounted, a cleaning-times measuring section to measure the actual number of times of cleaning done by discharging the ink from the recording head by using the ink cartridge and a use history storage section to store the discharge quantity measured by the discharge quantity measuring section in a state of being associated with the actual number of times of cleaning measured by the cleaning-times measuring section.
