PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine that allows designating attributes about a desired vending machine from among a plurality of groups of attributes about vending machines, thereby enabling a readily commercially available storage medium to be rapidly and surely formatted into a storage medium having the attributes of the vending machine designated. SOLUTION: The vending machine has an input part that allows input for the designation of predetermined attributes from among a plurality of groups of attributes about vending machines, and a control part that identifies the predetermined attributes designated by way of the input part and formats the storage medium according to the result of the identification so that the storage medium can store information about the predetermined attributes.
