摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power transmission and a lockup clutch mechanism whose cost are easily reduced. SOLUTION: The lockup clutch mechanism 8 of a torque converter 1 comprises: a lockup piston 80 which can move in an axial direction, and can approach/be separated from the front cover 2; a first friction disc 81 which is integrated with the front cover 2 in a rotation direction, and can move with respect to the front cover 2 in an axial direction; and a second friction disc 82 which is integrated with the lockup piston 80 in the rotation direction, and can move with respect to the lockup piston 80 in the axial direction. The second friction disc 82 is integrated, in an rotation direction, with the dumper unit 7 which is connected with the turbine hub 5, and can move in an axial direction with respect to a dumper unit 7.
