PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precleaner with a foreign matter storage container whose volume is increased in such a state that its protrusion from the lower end face of the precleaner (an outer cylinder) is minimized. SOLUTION: The precleaner comprises the outer cylinder 12 having a front end provided with an air inlet 12x and a base end closed, a swirling member 14 provided at the air inlet 12x of the outer cylinder 12 for swirling sucked air along the inner wall face of the outer cylinder 12, an inner cylinder 16 having a front end inserted through the base end of the outer cylinder 12 into the outer cylinder 12 and a base end as an air outlet 16p located outside the outer cylinder 12 in the axial direction, and the foreign matter storage container 20 formed as a passage member at the base end of the outer cylinder 12 along the outer peripheral face of the outer cylinder 12 and having one end provided with a communication port 22 communicated with the outer cylinder and the other end provided with foreign matter discharge portions 23, 24.
