PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor capable of cooling an inverter by eliminating fear of leakage of a refrigerant and miniaturizing a compressor without increasing a parts count when integrating an inverter for driving a motor with a compressor to be cooled by a refrigerant sucked thereinto. SOLUTION: A suction refrigerant passage 30 from a suction port 20 for refrigerant to a compression chamber 19 is formed in a fixed scroll 2 in a scroll type compression mechanism part. A switching element 29 which is a high heat generation part contained in an inverter 28 is formed so as to be thermally brought into intimate contact along the suction refrigerant passage 30. By so doing, the switching element 29 is cooled by low temperature refrigerant sucked from the suction port 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
