PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove a low-molecular substance, which is deleterious to the transparency of a molding, from polylactic acid pellets in a solid state. SOLUTION: Polylactic pellets produced by direct polymerization of lactic acid or by ring opening polymerization of a lactide are immersed in warm water. The warm water desirably has a temperature of 70°C or higher. The thus treated pellets can give a highly transparent molding when molded, and can be formed into a sheet or a film almost without staining a cooling roll. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
