A process for compost production in which can an organic waste, such as excreta, of high water content be solidified or granulated through reaction with wollastonite and sulfuric acid within an extremely short period of time to thereby attain odor improvement but also fermentation, namely, composting by an effective microbe can be certainly carried out even on a reduction-to-practice level of large processing amount. Composting is accomplished by mixing wollastonite into an organic waste; subsequently mixing concentrated sulfuric acid into the mixture to thereby effect reaction leading to solidification or granulation; thereafter mixing the solid or granule with an organic waste impregnated with heated oil so as to lower its water content; adding an effective microbe to the resultant mixture as a culture medium; and carrying out fermentation.
|
