<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which soiling of image forming parts, the interior of the apparatus, and paper with toner is prevented by a simple configuration and, further, first copying speed is high. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes; an intermediate transfer belt 5 stretched by a drive roller 1 and a follower roller 2 and circulated; and the group of image forming parts 3a, 3b, 3c, and 3d disposed for corresponding colors along the intermediate transfer belt 5. The structure primarily transfers toner images by the image forming parts 3a, 3b, 3c, and 3d onto the intermediate transfer belt 5, and, further, secondarily transfers the transferred toner images onto paper P. In the configuration, the intermediate transfer belt 5 is disposed such that the taut belt side of the intermediate transfer belt 5 is positioned upward when the belt 5 is circulated. In addition, the group of image forming parts is disposed on the taut belt side, and paper is fed to a secondary transfer section from a paper feed cassette 4 disposed above the group of image forming parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
