PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink from flowing back to a common ink chamber from a supply port. SOLUTION: Temperature in a first joining part 17 of a Pertier element 70 decreases when current is supplied to the Pertier element 70 according to a first cooling control of a control section 208. A temperature difference between an upper and lower surfaces of a common flow passage 1 becomesΔT when the current is supplied to the Pertier element 70 according to the first cooling control of the control section 208. An ink viscosity in the common flow passage 1 becomes higher than that in a pressure chamber 102 by virtue of the temperature difference. Ink is hence prevented from flowing back to the common flow passage 1 from the pressure chamber 102 when ink is discharged by pressure generated by a piezoactuator. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
