PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a plasma display panel and a plasma display device in which no electrostatic discharging occurs at a putting-off discharging cell, and occurrence of a phenomenon of a screen to be clouded in a black gradation is prevented and the time that occupies in a reset interval in one field is reduced. SOLUTION: In the driving method of a plasma display panel, a voltage Vhsc_h which is higher than a voltage Vs_hY that is to be applied to other scanning electrodes Y is applied to scanning electrodes Y to be selected in a sub-field 1SF of a first group. A voltage Va_l which is lower than a voltage Va_h to be applied to other address electrodes A is applied to address electrodes A of lighting electrostatic discharging cells among a plurality of electrostatic discharging cells corresponding to the scanning electrodes Y to be selected. Thus, a step Pa1 in which lighting electrostatic discharging cells are selected and a step Ps1 in which sustaining electrostatic discharging is conducted for the selected discharging cells in the sub-field are provided.
