PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user to have a speech with a speech opponent of an incoming call whose identity can not be specified after converting a speaking voice of the user. SOLUTION: A portable telephone with a voice conversion function is provided with a controller part, a key input part for inputting key data to the controller part, a voice processing part for converting up voice to the voice of the other person by the instruction of the controller part, a voice codec part for outputting the up voice inputted from a mike to the voice processing part after executing A/D conversion to it, a memory for storing voice data when the voice processing part executes the voice conversion, and a transmission/reception part which outputs the up voice outputted from the voice processing part to an antenna after executing radio modulation to it and outputs down voice received from the antenna to the voice processing part after executing radio demodulation to it. If a transmitter telephone number can not be acquired from an incoming message when receiving the incoming call, the controller part makes the voice processing part to execute the voice conversion of the up voice by outputting an instruction signal for the execution of the voice conversion to the voice processing part.
