PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal apparatus and a data management method for easily searching desired contents from contents captured by download etc. and stored. SOLUTION: Contents are grouped and managed for each of a plurality of hierarchies on the basis of the group attitudes of captured contents. Thus, grouping is executed only by capturing the contents, and when the desired contents are retrieved from the plurality of contents, the contents can be narrowed down and searched from a high order hierarchy to the low order hierarchy.
