摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a transverse mode without etching an active layer directly regarding a semiconductor light emitting element using a self-forming quantum dot. SOLUTION: The density of the self-forming quantum dot 4 in a cross section which is vertical to an optical axis in an optical waveguide is made larger in a central part than in a peripheral part.
