PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head supporting device which can improve the accuracy of a servo reference signal in initial writing in self-servo writing by suppressing the amount of displacement of a buffer material of a crash stop corresponding to a change in pressing force of the head supporting device at the time of abutting on the crash stop with an extremely simple configuration. SOLUTION: The head supporting device 5 is constituted in such a manner that the abutting portions of a coil arm 19 which is a turning regulation member and the crash stop 7 are surface contacted by forming the side face on the side abutting on the crash stop 7 for regulating the turning toward a central side of a magnetic disk 3 out of both side faces of the coil arm 19 as the turning regulation member for regulating the turning range by respectively abutting on the two crash stops 7 and 8 implanted in a casing 9 to a shape congruent with the side face shape of the crash stop 7 abutting on the side face of the coil arm 19 in the state of abutting on the crash stop.
