PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method due to a solid-phase extraction method not affected by a floating suspended substance or the viscosity of a solution in a pretreatment method for analyzing a metal contained in a liquid food sample. SOLUTION: In the pretreatment method for analyzing the metal in the liquid food sample, the food sample is passed through the fibrous solid-phase extraction material to selectively adsorb metal ions contained in the sample and the adsorbed metal is eluted to concentrate and isolate the metal ions. The fibrous solid-phase extraction material has a functional group having a metal ion trapping function selected from the group consisting of an amidoxime group, an iminodiacetate group, a zirconium supported phosphate group, phosphate group, sulfone group, carboxyl group, amino group and combination of them.
