PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the air permeability of a vulcanized rubber without lowering the modulus. SOLUTION: A low gas permeability rubber composition comprises 100 pts. wt. rubber component containing≥60 wt.% butyl rubber and 1-200 pts. wt. already expanded graphite after completion of expansion by heat treatment.
