PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of joining a cast-in place pile and a steel pipe column that can simplify construction, shorten a construction period and reinforce the periphery of the ground by a simple method. SOLUTION: In the method of joining the cast-in place pile 1 and the steel pipe column 8, a casing 2 used as a joining steel pipe of socket joining to protect a hole wall of the cast-in place pile 1 is pressed in to form a pile hole 6 near the surface of the ground G, and then the cast-in place pile 1 is constructed in the pile hole 6. The steel pipe column 8 is erected on the cast-in place pile 1, and concrete 9 is placed in a joint part between the steel pipe column 8 and the casing 2 used as the joining steel pipe of socket joining.
