PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen concentrator usable in both cases where a patient is at home and/or goes out (including moving in a car and the like). SOLUTION: This oxygen concentrator is provided with a compressing means compressing air taken from an air intake port, an adsorbing means adsorbing predetermined components except for oxygen in the compressed air in an adsorbing cylinder and removing them from the compressed air, a product tank for accumulating concentrated oxygen formed by removing the predetermined components, and an open valve in an exhaust passage for exhausting the adsorbed components except for the oxygen. A passage changeover means provided in the compressing means side of the adsorbing cylinder is formed of a pilot solenoid valve, the compressing means is actuated in advance of the pilot solenoid valve in starting the concentrator, and the degree of vacuum of the passage inside pressure can be regulated by operating the open valve.
