PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus capable of improving the atmosphere of eating and drinking. SOLUTION: The display surface of a display panel 220 is covered with a translucent protection member, and table legs are fitted to form a table-type display apparatus 100 with a display surface facing up. When dishes for serving prescribed food or drink is placed on the top surface of the protection member of the display apparatus 100, a detection means 270 reads tag information of an IC tag 290 provided at the dishes. A tableware kind recognition means 281 retrieves menu data having the same tag information from the tag information in a menu data storage means 260. A display control means 283 recognizes the class and color of the menu of the menu data, retrieves the image data of the same class and color tone from an image data storage means 250, and displays it on the display panel 220. Satisfactory meal environment is obtained by screen display of a content according to the content of the food and drink and screen display with which the color of the food and drink looks favorably.
