A dental material which contains a (meth)acrylic compound represented by the general formula (1) and is excellent in adhesion and adhesion durability: (1) (c) wherein R11 represents hydrogen or alkyl; R12 represents hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted aryl, or a metal atom M1/N; n indicates the valence of the metal atom; R13, R14, and R15 each independently represents hydrogen, halogeno, alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl; X11 represents -O-, -S-, or -NR16- (wherein R16 represents hydrogen or alkyl); Y11 represents a divalent connecting group having at least one alcoholic hydroxy group; and X12 represents -O-, -NR17-, or -O-CO-NH- [wherein R17 in the group -NR17- represents hydrogen, alkyl, or a group represented by the formula (C) shown above (wherein R11, X11, X12, and Y11 have the same meanings as defined above)].
