A method and an apparatus for friction stirring-spot welding capable of solving a problem in spot welding by FSW wherein welding strength tends to be lowered since an area to be metallic-bonded is limited to near the pin part of a welding tool. The method comprises the steps of pushing the welding tool (1) into a welded material (4) and tilting the rotating shaft of the welding tool (1) about a specified one point (13) to swing the tip portion of the welding tool (1) so as to increase a plastic flow area caused by the rotation of the tool. Thus, the welding strength can be increased.
