<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfusion method capable of operating for a long time with a low voltage in a micro-total analysis system and also to provide a micro-total analysis system using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The micro-total analysis system has a built-in hydrogen pump made by laminating hydrogen permeable electrodes on both faces of a solid electrolyte membrane and by forming a supply conduit on one face of the membrane and an exhaust conduit on the other face of the membrane. By supplying methanol and water or water vapor to the supply conduit, and by passing current so that the hydrogen permeable electrode on the supply conduit side becomes the positive electrode and the hydrogen permeable electrode on the exhaust conduit side becomes the negative electrode, methanol and water or water vapor are electrolyzed to generate hydrogen gas in the exhaust conduit. The transfusion method is characterized by that a liquid is transferred by the hydrogen gas thus generated in the exhaust conduit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
