PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray generator which generates a beam of parallel rays. SOLUTION: The X-ray generator has an X-ray source which emits an X-ray beam with a prescribed cross section, a first plate crystal 11 so located that its lateral face 11c can be positioned in the direction of the propagation of the X-ray beam launched from the X-ray source along a front side 11a and a back side 11b in the crystal and a second plate crystal 12 so located that a lateral side 12c can be positioned in the direction of the propagation of the X-ray beam, launched from the first plate crystal 11 along a front side 12a and a back side 12b in the crystal. The X-ray beam, launched from the X-ray source, is launched into the first plate crystal 11, the X-ray beam emitted from the lateral side 11c of the first plate crystal 11 is launched into the second plate crystal 12 and an X-ray beam is launched from the lateral side 12c of the second plate crystal 12.
