PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary kiln capable of efficiently increasing a temperature of a heated object, exercising temperature rise effect similar as that of direct heating without increasing the amount of exhaust gas discharged from a kiln as a gas burner is not mounted inside of the kiln, and further not lowering the temperature until the heated object is discharged. SOLUTION: In this rotary kiln 1, a heater storage cylinder 7 is mounted in a discharge end wall 6 in a state of being projected inside, and a heater 8 is mounted in the storage cylinder.
