PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively producing 5-amino pyrimidine compound expressed by following formula (5). SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing the amino pyrimidine compound with protected 5-position expressed by formula (5), comprising reaction of a glycine compound expressed by formula (1) with t-butoxybisdimethyl aminomethane, dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal or dimethylformamide diethyl acetal to obtain a dialkylaminomethylene compound expressed by formula (2), and reacting the product in the presence of an acid to obtain a hydroxymethylene compound expressed by formula (3) and then reacting the product with an amidine compound expressed by formula (4) or its salt.
