JOINING MATERIAL FOR ALUMINUM NITRIDE SINTERED COMPACT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining material for surely joining aluminum nitride sintered compacts to each other at a relatively low temperature and a method of joining the aluminum nitride sintered compact with the use of the joining material. SOLUTION: The joining material for the aluminum nitride sintered compact uses a fused material obtained by mixing an aluminum compound such as aluminum chloride and urea or the derivative in a molten state as a joining component. The aluminum nitride sintered compacts are joined to each other by interposing the joining material between the aluminum nitride sintered compacts and heating and pressing them at 700-1,500°C.
