PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive to reliably fix a SiC seed crystal to a graphite shaft for stably manufacturing a SiC single crystal by a solution method, and to provide an adhesion method therefor. SOLUTION: The adhesive for a SiC single crystal and graphite comprises thermosetting resin, solvent and a carbon component. The adhesion method for adhering a SiC seed crystal to a graphite rod by using the above adhesive is characterized in that after a seed crystal is stuck to a graphite rod with the adhesive, the crystal is heat treated while keeping a temperature at the carbonization temperature or higher of the thermosetting resin.
