PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throwaway tip for machining a bore, of which throwaway tip can achieve excellent surface roughness of a workpiece in wet cutting, and also can extend the life of the throwaway tip. SOLUTION: The throwaway tip 1 for machining a bore comprises a fixing portion 2 to be fixed to a holder, a rod shape portion 4 continuously extending from the fixing portion 2, and a cutting portion having a cutting edge 3 for machining the bore and a rake face 5 continued to the cutting edge 3 at the tip end of the rod shape portion 4 in the longitudinal direction so as to protrude sideward from the peripheral surface of the rod shape portion 4.
