<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition that actualizes excellent printing qualities on plain paper in an inkjet recording method, especially secures high print density and edge sharpness and has discharge stability and extremely slight printing unevenness. <P>SOLUTION: Inkjet recording is carried out by using an ink composition comprising at lesat self-dispersion type black pigment, a compound represented by formula (1) (EO is an ethyleneoxy group; PO is a propyleneoxy group; m is an integer of ≤3; n is an integer of ≤2) and a compound represented by formula (2) (EO is an ethyleneoxy group; PO is a propyleneoxy group; m is an integer of ≥4; n is an integer of ≥3).
