<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device in which toner density in a developing chamber is kept appropriate. <P>SOLUTION: An adjusting member 96 is disposed at the bottom of an opening 90 via which a toner chamber 72 and the developing chamber 74 communicate. When the adjusting member 96 is lifted, the position of the bottom of the opening 90 is raised. At the time, toner in the toner chamber 72 is restrained from being conveyed from the toner chamber 72 to the developing chamber 74 along the bottom of the opening 90 by a second stir conveyance member 84.
