<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide state monitor device so constituted as to effectively put an ultrasonic sensor used for measuring a sludge interface to practical use to grasp the state of air bubbles or floating sludge during measurement. <P>SOLUTION: An ultrasonic sensor for transmitting ultrasonic waves to the bottom surface of a tank to be measured and receiving the reflected waves thereof is provided, and the receiving timing of the reflected waves due to the ultrasonic sensor and the wave receiving intensity thereof are detected, and a change in the detected intensity of the reflected waves with the elapse of time and a change in the receiving timing with the elapse of time are analyzed to monitor the states of air bubbles and sludge. Especially, a component high in the rising speed of the reflected wave is detected as air bubbles and a component low in a rising speed is detected as rising sludge. Alternatively, a component gradually increased in a rising speed is detected as air bubbles and a component almost constant in the rising speed is detected as rising sludge. The component gradually increased in intensity is detected as rising sludge and a component almost constant in the intensity of a reflected wave is detected as rising sludge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
