<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device having high resolution and S/N ratio in which the size of the device itself can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The surface acoustic wave device outputting an inputted electrical signal while delaying comprises a piezoelectric substrate 21, and crossed-finger electrodes 22A, 22B, 22C, 22D and 22E provided on the surface of the piezoelectric substrate 21.
