<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a spectacle lens whose surface processing layer has high adhesion and high durability. <P>SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method 10, the surface processing layer is formed on a base material having been subjected to lens grinding (external shape machining) in a step 12 to be fitted in a frame that a user selects, in a step 13 in which surface processing layer is formed while including the lens-ground surface and the base material is set in the frame in a step 14 for use by the user.
